DIY Wednesday

I have all but four address labels set up and ready for printing.

I started making some coat check tags so that I can practice my cutting. I suck at cutting. I mean S - U - C - K. No matter what tools I use, it looks like shit. And, so far, the coat check tags are not proving any different. But good 'ole etsy is saving my ass again. I just tossed an Alchemy request up there looking for crafters to cut my labels for me. Someone who has a professional cutter at home responded within three minutes. She's saving me HOURS of work for only $20. I'll let you know how it turns out. :) (fingers, toes, arms, and legs crossed)

Here are the coat check tags. I feel like kind of a loser for making these. Maybe I can have these cut too! ;)

How did this person cut her items so cleany? I hate her. (Unless she's reading this. If she is, she should know that I'm very, very jealous.)

I know for certain Martha featured it in one of her magazines - the coat check tag puncher - I need to get one too. I'll let you know later today if no one else has.

your coat check tags look GREAT! fyi if you have any last min. cutting needs, kinkos has a laser cutter that people SWEAR by. just a thought...maybe you already knew about it :)

The labels look amazing!

To second Jessica Lynn, Kinkos does a great job and its pretty inexpensive. You can definitely buy those coat check punches at Michaels- although I love the ones you have made! But a punch makes it so perfect and so easy!

I need a new cutter, if anyone has recommendations :)

Oh HELLO! TINA! You are doing AMAZING job with all your printed goods. I'm so jealous of your coat check tags...my venue doesn't really have an area for this. All I received was rolled eyes when I considered employing a friend to set one up. LOL

Kudos, girl, kudos!

These look great, you are so on the ball it is amazing.

I hear you with the sucking at cutting. I am terrible and cutting neatly aka craftsmanship was a HUGE part of graphic design–my major. HA. I do not know how many times my TAs would circle the bad spots on pieces I'd cut out and say "CRAFT." Yeah, yeah, I know. I quickly learned to hire others! Now I take stuff to Kinko's.

Staples has a great automated cutting machine as well and it's cheap!

I'm in love with your blog. You're so hilarious... and all your stuff looks *awesome*!!! I think you probably said this on an earlier post, but I can't find it... what did you use to format your labels? I love the different angles of the return address and mailing address... so adorable. Could you post or re-post? Thanks!!

By the way, my downfall is photocopying, and I often have to copy copyrighted music for personal use... so I'm SOL when I go to Kinko's. Sigh.

ok, can i just say that after the SMP coat check tags, i tried to design my own. and they SUCKED. seriously. i cannot find the right photoshop brush or illustrator vector to go with my theme. it's yet another item on my arms-length to do list.

you'd think something like that would be so freaking easy. and yours look phenomenal. i'm SO JEALOUS.
