Bad Marie: A Novel by Marcy Dermansky
A good, totally fast read. I bet that I could have finished this one in four hours if I had the time. Marie is definitely very naughty. (Originally recommended by one of my favorite bloggers.)

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender
Full disclosure: Aimee Bender is my favorite fiction author.
Every time I read one of her books, I close the back cover and think,
"Damn. I wish that I wrote that**."
This wasn't my favorite Bender book, but it was a fast, lyrical read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Also, in the "Damn. I wish that I wrote that" is anything by Miranda July. Her book and her movie both enthralled me. So quirky-yet-heartwarming and just wonderful.
Up next is The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, which I've been hauling around for the last month and My Life in France: Julia Child, which I've started and restarted about ten times. (Which seems odd, because I am loving it.)
P.S. I read the other book by The Little Bee author and thought it was so-so. Did anyone else catch it? What did you think?
