I Dream of Jeanne('s Wedding)

So, my brains works OT. I mean, 24X7, it's going. I know that a lot of people say this about themselves, but people that spend a lot of time around me -- family, roommates, Andy, previous boy toys, travel partners -- agree that my noggin is worst than most. And it has caused issues on occasion. Who am I kidding? It causes issues for me every single day. Anyway...

The problem with being engaged is that I am completely overstimulated ALL OF THE TIME. There is constantly something pretty to catch my eye. And reading all of these blogs has opened up a whole new world of distractions to me. In other words, I am now thinking about other people's weddings 24X7.

I first noticed this last month when, after reading this post on With This Ring, I had a dream that I had found the perfect kate spade polka dot sash for Darci's flower girl. In the dream, the item was on clearance. I debated whether it would be weird to buy it for her and then I grabbed it "just in case" rationalizing that I could just return if it she didn't want it. But now I find myself doing this all of the time.

On Sunday, I sat down with my copy of the new In Style Weddings and, seeing this cake, thought that a darker variation would look great with A Bride in the Making's new color palette, marigold and pewter.

And yesterday, I stumbled upon these programs on the knot and thought, "These would look great with Hasel's Save the Dates."

Is that weird? Does anyone else so this or am I the dork on the blog block? And do I tell people when I find cool stuff for them or is that just too odd?

Dear Stranger,

You don't know me, but look this cool thing that I found for the most important party that you'll ever plan. Hope you like it!

That's great. I'm so obsessed with my own wedding I can't see past it. I can however find wonderful things for my wedding I was a millionaire. I think we all do that.

You definitely tell people! I loved getting that email from you; felt like I have a pal out there in blog world! Haha...

I know what you mean though, my brain is constantly going about everything: wedding, house, dinner, work, etc. etc. I can't shut it off sometimes.

I think that is so sweet and awesome of you, find stuff for me anytime! :) But I can see how that would kind of make your head want to explode.

I can't fall asleep at night because my brain is always so busy working overtime. I have a bunch of friends getting married and so I am constantly creating new google notebooks and sharing them with the, and I don't think any of them even look at them. So sad.

I am the same way! I've been posting ideas on people's blogs like crazy, so you definitely shouldn't feel alone in it. :)

Oh goodness, I am just starting the process but boy can I relate. As soon as I lay my head on my pillow I feel like a slideshow of flowers, venues and color palettes plays in my head!

Haha, I love how you say these blogs have "opened up a whole new world of distractions". I feel exactly the same way. I stumbled upon my first wedding blog just last week and now my google reader is filled and I could spend every hour of my work day browsing and posting. It's crazy but I love it. There is only one time in my life for this so why not obsess about it?

Oh and if you're ever wondering, I'm always open to ideas and suggestions so if you feel so inspired send 'em my way!
