I am Tacky...Just Like the Back of the Labels That I Want to Stick On My Invites.

I am still having the "do I or don't I?" debate on addressing the envelopes. I am using kind of shiny envelopes (Paper Source stardream metallic line), so I am wondering if preventing smears will be a royal pain. Also, I can't sit still for very long. Even if I did two invites a week until August, it would require me to sit at the kitchen table patiently twice a week. And that doesn't happen. Even for five minutes. So, in light of this, I played around with a few label configurations this weekend.

Option 1: 5" Labels from Paper Source

Although I like these, I've used these before and printing on them is kind of a pain. You need to find the center of each label and tape it to an 8.5"X11" template. And it still didn't necessarily align. I am a little gun shy about using these.

Option 2

Option 3: 5" Labels with Address Printed on 2.5" Labels and some 1.25" Labels

I'd have to do the math on this one. It might add up to cost as much as calligraphy! A plus side of the 2.5" labels is that I already have all of the addresses in layed out from the save the dates. I'd have a few changes to make to add the "and guest" and spell out the names correctly, but that Id be 95% finished.

Option 4: Address Printed on 2.5" Labels and some 1.25" Labels, No 5" Label
(This is my favorite layout. Andy concurs.)

I'll have to rotate the dots to accommodate the postmark. I can guarantee that the post office near my office would laugh and possibly spit in my face if I asked to use the hand cancel stamp.

Option 5: Wrap-Around Labels
(This is my second favorite.)

I also tried some mockups of wrap-around labels a la Martha. I was too lazy to come up with a dot pattern for the draft, but you get the jist. (Can you tell that I am tired of fighting with dots?)

Oh I love option 3. But maybe it will be expensive like the option before it? I don't understand why option 2 would cost almost as much as calligraphy.

I'm a fan of option 4!

Hi Jenna. The large white circle labels are 60 cents/ea. So $60 + $20 for the small stickers and $10.40 for the round labels would be $90. I could get calligraphy for $50 more.

i kind of like the simplicity of option 2 personally... or maybe the wraparound labels- you could round the edges...

I think the wraparound labels are really awesome. I've seen others do these, and I wish I had known of them sooner. (my invites go out next week) Forget the dots if they're a pain...I'm sure your guests will get plenty of dots by the time it's all said and done!! :)

(I'm guilty of over-turquoising everything for my wedding...)

I am torn on the appeal of the wrap-around labels. They'd mean that I'd have to buy a xyron and manually cut 100 labels. I HATE CUTTING. Option 4 is definitely the most affordable and easiest option.

I like option 4 the best but option 3 is a close second.

I like 4 too. And not just for it's ease and cost-effectiveness. I like the dual-purpose thing AND the look as well!

i used to work for paper source (wholesale, not store) and got sooooo many complaints about the stardream envelopes and ink smearing, i would def, def go for the labels. if you ab have to use a pen make sure it is not the inky kind, it will be all over the place, and even printing them on a home printer can be a huge mess too. printing on stardream is best left to professionals or like you are doing, use labels!

Option 4 & 5 are my favorite. Labels aren't tacky, how people use them, can be.

They all look great to me =o) I would go with whatever is easiest. You don't want to make yourself crazy over small details such as labels.

Oooh, I vote 4 or 5. Good luck deciding!

i really like option 5. i seem to be a little in the minority but i love the clean simple look. i concur to go with the option that "marries" your look with the least work. go labels!

I love #4

How phenomenal!! They all look great!! If you want to continue with your theme, Option #4 looks good. If you want to ease up a moment on work for the wedding, I would go with Option #5. My personal favorite, get one of your bridesmaids to just do it for you. :)

you might have figured this out already, but I just found out that you can buy labels by the sheet- as in one large label, the size of a page. then you just need to print and cut, no xyron :)
