Sendin' Out in Style (i.e., The Obligatory Stamp Post)

Although stamps like this would be fun, they're expensive. And if I'm too cheap to cough up cash for calligraphy, you better believe that I can't get myself to cough up cash for decorative stamps. (Much less stamps that maybe six people would notice.) Those stamps have a HUGE markup! ($84.75 for $42 worth of postage!)

Besides, I'm on dot overload. Too much of an OK thing is a bad thing. And I could never put our photos on a stamp unless we were in costume or something totally camp. So we're going with Frank Sinatra stamps instead. They're fun, cheap, and more likely to be noticed by my family members.

The RSVP postcards will have 41 cent Celebrate stamps. I hate giving the P.O. extra postage, but I am just high-maintenance enough to refuse to put a blue panther on my invites.

I'm kind of disappointed in myself. I always thought that I'd be the type of girl to spend hours looking for fun vintage stamps. But at the end of the day, I'd rather serve Garrett's Popcorn as favors than spend money on stamps that will end up in the bin, you know? I guess that I'm not as much as a Martha Girl as I thought. Who would have thought that food trumps style for me? OMG. My Joe's Jeans just collapsed laughing at that. Now they're running from the room in fear. (Ha, Ha.)

Update:

I meant to reschedule this post since I added the Andy post. Oops. I saw the tropical fruit stamps last week, but didn't realize that they were postcard stamps. However, the I can't get past the fact that the papaya looks like a vagina (and so does the guava a little) and the Kiwi and Star Fruits look like rectums. (Isn't "rectum" funnier than the slang words for that?) The Pomegranate would actual work, but it looks like an illustration of something internal too.

Did you already buy the "Celebrate" stamps? They're super cute, but the postcard stamps aren't panthers anymore... they're tropical fruits! I hope I don't make you bang your head against a wall...

Well I was hoping to go with Zazzle but the markup is way too high. Guess it will be Sinatra and Fruit for me as well.

OMG, definitely agree with the anatomical fruit! Crakin' up. I have a feeling I'm going to be feeling just like you are when it comes time to mail!

i was thinking how anatomical those fruits were, especially the fleshy colored pomegranate and guava. i would opt for celebrate as well.
