tw + ac - 10.17.08.06: Traipsing Through Town

The wedding party photo schedule is the only thing that went "wrong" on the wedding day. There was a communication gap and people didn't report to the right posts on time. It all worked out fine in the end, it just wasn't the laugh-filled, champagne glass-clinking, Booth 1 moment that I had hoped for. I did kind of pout about it on the bus, but I don't think that anyone noticed. But who cares? Onto the fun stuff! Sorry that this such a photo-heavy post. I never thought that I'd say this, but I'm actually kind of tired of looking at these photos and, in turn, am getting lazy in my editing.

So, remember the bus that I had to rent at the last minute? Well, I thought that we were getting a shuttle. Oh no, we rented an actual BUS. I almost peed my pants laughing when I walked out of the hotel and saw this.

For our photos, we went to the Kinzie Street bridge. It's an awesome bridge with spectacular views of the river and city. (Non-locals may know this bridge as "The Dave Matthews Bridge" or the site of the April 13, 1992 flood.) I am bummed that we didn't get any good wedding party shots here. The wedding party looks good in all of them, but Andy and/or I are looking the wrong way in all of the others - and not in a funky, photojournalism way. Oh, and as you can see, I forgot to ask the guys if I could post their pix here...

I actually H-A-T-E dip photos. (And dipping when dancing for that matter.) But I forgot to tell my photographer that, so I have a ton of them. And, oddly, people keep picking these as their favorites.

I happen to work in the building right next to the bridge. My coworkers hung a "congratulations" sign in the window for us. Unfortunately, I was looking at the wrong area of the building and didn't see it. I took this photo of it on Halloween.

After Kinzie Street, Andy and I hopped out of the bus to take some photos on Michigan Avenue. They're cheesy photos, but obligatory for Chicago girls, so I love them.

Since we were running late, stuck in traffic, and limited on where we could drive in our giant-a*s bus, we had to blow off taking pictures in the park and at A New Leaf and rush over to pick up our parents, families, and ushers at the hotel.

Oh, you're so lucky, I would love to be able to do a shoot downtown, but since we're not getting married in the city we probably won't have time. These are fabulous!

I really love the lines of your dress, gorgeous!

We are going to run around San Diego after we have our ceremony because we have a gap. I can't wait to see how they turn out.
